Science and Spirituality

· Lifestyle,health,Relaxing

I know the title sounds like an oxymoron, but if you read on, I will show you how they can work together.

I read an interesting article on a blog about religious tolerance. Apparently, between the 1st of November and the 15th of January, there are approximately 29 holidays observed by seven of the world’s major religions.

The point I’d like to make is that scientists have found that… having a spiritual practice has many health benefits.

A Harvard Medical School study found that meditation, yoga and repetitive prayer, affect gene expression.

People who have some form of spiritual practice turned on more “disease-fighting genes” than people that do not have any spiritual practices.

Having some form of spiritual practice also switches on the relaxation response.

So… having a spiritual practice can lead to many health benefits, both physical and emotional.

So choose… to have a spiritual practice or not!

The choice is entirely yours.
