Children are taught ‘what’ to learn at school, but... does anyone teach them ‘how’ to learn?

· learning,Exercise,concentration

I’m sure you all know that children are taught ‘what’ to learn at school.

But... does anyone teach them ‘how’ to learn?

Did you know that children learn best when you engage all of their senses.

According to one expert in education, the best way to help students learn is by teaching them a new idea/concept using a variety of ways.

So, which learning styles are good for children with ADHD, you might ask?

Let me give you a few suggestions…

  • some children need to move to learn, so why not help your child learn their timetables whilst they are bouncing on a trampoline,
  • some children need to touch things to learn, so why not help your child learn their spelling words by making them out of play dough.

As you well know, when parents make suggestions, children with ADHD do the opposite! “But why… LEARN like that?” uses the teddy bear characters from the “But why…?” book series, to encourage children to learn how to learn!
