Learn while you sleep

Sleep, memory, learning

June 2, 2017

I’m sure you already know that sleep is important.

But did you know that sleep plays an important role in memory?

In 2006, a group of researchers wanted to investigate the effects of sleep on memory.

What these researchers discovered was that it is not only important to get a good night’s sleep before you learn new information, but also after you have learnt something new.

The quality and quantity of sleep impacts your memory.

If your child gets a good night’s sleep before going to school, they are more likely to concentrate and be capable of learning new things.

Also, if your child gets a good night’s sleep after learning new things, then their brain has the opportunity to consolidate the new information whilst they sleep.
