Preventing onset of chronic diseases!

Did you know that… world health authorities, researchers, health professionals and governments have been talking about reducing the global burden of preventable disease for a long time?

And yet, rates of obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease and several forms of cancer are still increasing.

Allow me to share with you some interesting findings that support the above statement…

According to a report published in 2003:

Recommendations have been made by the World Health Organisation (WHO) to help prevent death and disability from major nutrition-related chronic diseases.

The nutrient intake and physical activity goals outlined by WHO were designed to contribute to the development of strategies and national guidelines to reduce the burden of disease related to chronic diseases such as…..

… obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, several forms of cancer, osteoporosis and dental disease.

So, what are we doing about this?
