Did you know that… world health authorities, researchers, health professionals and governments have been talking about reducing the global burden of preventable disease for a long time?
And yet, rates of obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease and several forms of cancer are still increasing.
Allow me to share with you some interesting findings that support the above statement…
According to a report published in 2003:
Recommendations have been made by the World Health Organisation (WHO) to help prevent death and disability from major nutrition-related chronic diseases.
The nutrient intake and physical activity goals outlined by WHO were designed to contribute to the development of strategies and national guidelines to reduce the burden of disease related to chronic diseases such as…..
… obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, several forms of cancer, osteoporosis and dental disease.
So, what are we doing about this?
How are you helping yourself and your family to prevent the onset of chronic diseases?
I’d like to share with you what I’m doing about this…
I have written the “But why…?” series
and these books talk about evidence-based activities covering the important lifestyle topics of …
NUTRITION, EXERCISE, RELAXATION and SLEEP!
The “But why…?” series uses the teddy bear characters from the books, to encourage children to make healthy lifestyle choices!
As you well know, when parents make suggestions, children in general, tend to do the opposite!
So, why not let the teddy bears do the work for you!
Let them encourage your child to make healthy lifestyle choices!
Just imagine if... your child chose to copy the healthy activities outlined in the books!
Wouldn't that make your life easier?
